Pokémon’s Solid Gold Gholdengo Figure Costs ¥1.54 Million — Here’s What You Get

Pokémon has turned Gholdengo into a real 24-karat gold collectible, and the price is as serious as the material: ¥1,540,000 including tax. This is not a gold-colored toy or a plated display piece. The small figure is made from about 15 grams of K24 pure gold, stands roughly 6 centimeters tall, and comes with a glass display case.

The figure first appeared at the Yokohama Grand Gold Exhibition on September 30, 2026. According to Pokémon’s official Japanese product announcement, wider sales began on October 6 through SGC Gold Shops and participating department stores in Japan. Availability may be limited, and the listed price can change with the gold market.

Is the Gholdengo figure really solid gold?

Yes. The official listing describes the material as K24 pure gold and gives an approximate weight of 15 grams. That separates the product from the much larger gold-leaf statues shown at the launch exhibition.

The distinction matters because photos from the event show more than one golden Pokémon object. The product buyers can take home is the compact 6-centimeter figure in a glass case. The life-size Gholdengo and Pikachu pieces were exhibition displays. They should not be confused with the solid-gold miniature or its listed price.

The choice of Pokémon is unusually literal. Gholdengo is already designed around a body of gold, so producing the character in pure gold turns the joke behind the design into a luxury object. It also makes the figure feel less arbitrary than a standard character cast in an expensive material.

How much is ¥1.54 million in US dollars?

At recent exchange rates, the Japanese price sits roughly around the US$10,000 mark, but the exact dollar amount changes with currency rates. International buyers should treat any dollar conversion as an estimate rather than a fixed overseas price.

There may also be costs beyond the display price. Currency conversion, taxes, customs charges, insurance, and secure shipping can all matter for a high-value item. Pokémon’s announcement is aimed at the Japanese market and does not announce a separate US or European release.

Where can you buy the solid gold Gholdengo?

The launch sale began at Yokohama Takashimaya’s Grand Gold Exhibition on September 30. The official announcement says sales expanded on October 6 to SGC Gold Shops and department stores including Takashimaya, Mitsukoshi Isetan, and Daimaru Matsuzakaya locations in Japan.

That does not mean every branch will have one waiting in a cabinet. Pokémon warns that store start dates can differ, quantities are limited, and purchase limits may apply. Anyone considering a trip or a high-value order should confirm current stock directly with SGC or the department store before making plans.

Is it a Pokémon 30th anniversary item?

The figure arrives during Pokémon’s 30th anniversary year, and several English-language reports have framed it as an anniversary collectible. The official product page, however, presents it as an SGC release and does not label it as a numbered 30th anniversary edition.

That difference is worth keeping. It is fair to connect the timing to the anniversary, but there is no official claim on the product page that every figure is individually numbered or that a specific edition size exists. Limited availability is not the same thing as a published production count.

What collectors should check before buying

The official page says the price may change with the gold market and that product details can change without notice. For a purchase at this level, buyers should verify the final price, current availability, included documentation, return conditions, and any export arrangements directly with the seller.

For everyone else, the figure is a striking piece of Pokémon news: a character whose identity revolves around gold has become a real pure-gold collectible. The miniature is the item for sale. The life-size statues were the spectacle around it.
